The Mount Pleasant ISD School Foundation presented a check for $53,451.41 to the MPISD Board of Trustees at the October 26, 2020 Board meeting. The funds are designated for the 2020 fall grant cycle and also for Innovative Campus grants. The Innovative Campus grants opportunity resulted from funds that had been reserved for the Spring 2020 grants, which were not awarded due to the closure of schools. The Foundation Board of Directors voted to allow MPISD campuses to submit one grant per campus that would be innovative and could be for up to $10,000 (regular grants are limited to $2,000). This new and exciting grant opportunity was well-received by MPISD Administrators and resulted in eight grant applications. Two of those applications were selected as winners. The MPISD Foundation is also awarding grants to 35 MPISD teachers this fall. This makes over $320,000 in grants that the Foundation has awarded to MPISD teachers and administrators since its inception five years ago.
