Grant Application Guidelines
- Applications must be received at the MPISD Foundation office by 3:00 p.m. on the day of the deadline. They may be hand-delivered, emailed, or sent via campus mail. A copy of the application can be downloaded from our homepage.
- The maximum grant award is $2,500. Any request exceeding this amount will be automatically rejected.
- Grant applications may be submitted by an individual or a group (e.g., a team or grade level). If a group applies, one person must be designated as the primary grant writer. This individual will serve as the contact person and will receive the funds. The maximum grant amount remains $2,500 regardless of whether the applicant is an individual or a group.
- The Foundation may not be able to award the full amount requested. Please indicate on the application if additional funding sources are available and whether partial funding is acceptable. If partial funding is possible, explain how it would be implemented. Without this explanation, partial funding may not be considered.
- In Question 7, rank the items requested in order of importance and identify which elements are crucial to your grant. This helps the Programs Committee prioritize if only partial funding is available.
- Technology requests must be reviewed by the IT Department to ensure compliance with district policies and compatibility with the network (e.g., required warranties). Your principal must contact the District Technology Director to confirm feasibility and warranty requirements. Each principal must sign off, confirming that this contact has been made and that the grant complies with district policies.
- Example: If you request funding for an iPad, you must also request funding for the required warranty. If the warranty is not included, the grant application will be rejected.
- Items funded by a Foundation grant must be purchased from approved vendors. If you’re unsure whether a vendor is approved, check with the individual on your campus who inputs requisitions.
- Any unused grant funds will be returned to the Foundation. These funds cannot be used to purchase items not included in the original grant proposal.
