American National Bank of Mount Pleasant donated $2600 to the Mount Pleasant ISD Education Foundation for grants to new teachers. The grants went to 38 new MPISD teachers who had never taught in a classroom in the United States before. Each teacher received $65 to use to purchase supplies for their classrooms.
“This is the second year that American National Bank has donated the funds for new teacher grants,” said Dr. Judi Saxton, MPISD Director of Communication. “The School District and the Foundation appreciate American National’s generosity. These grants will help our new teachers get started in their chosen professions.”
Brian Niblett, American National Bank’s President and CEO, and Vikki Goates, Executive Vice President, Cashier and CFO, presented the check to Amy Hinton, MPISD Foundation Vice President of Development, and Judd Marshall, MPISD Superintendent of Schools. Goates also serves as Treasurer for the Foundation.
